Frame Press Commercial Vehicle Frame Straightening

The majority of the components used in frame straightening are manufactured in a special aluminum alloy. The equipment is lightweight, strong and easy to handle.

A great advantage is that the press trolleys can be used in confined spaces. Presses and other tools are anchored to I-beams which can be custom designed to any size or situation.

The JOSAM frame straightening system, the most sold of its kind in Europe, is in use all over the world. Our leading position in today´s market is based on high technology and quality and is a result of our research to fulfill the great demands made by the Swedish heavy transport industry. Our equipment aligns trucks and combination vehicles (trailers etc) up to 24 meters long and with an overall weight of 60 tons!

These tools are also very suitable for straightening buses, coaches and double deckers and most other heavy vehicles. JOSAM press/pull trolleys are used in combination with special components. We provide a basic training course with the sale of each frame straightening system. The JOSAM Frame Press is used and recommended by SCANIA-VOLVO-MERCEDES-IVECO-MAN-DAF and RENAULT.

JOSAM frame repair equipment

The JOSAM alignment system is founded on the principle of l-beams cast in the workshop floor. Combined with the JOSAM service pit it makes the ideal working area for straightening heavy and light trucks, trailers and buses. Presses and other tools are easily anchored to the floor rails, enabling both horizontal and vertical repairs to be carried out.

JOSAM press and pull equipment

This system works hydraulically and is manufactured in two versions with a press capacity of 20-40 tons respectively. The presses are on wheels and can be equipped with brackets, chain anchors, cylinder anchors and adapter kits. By making the presses in a new aluminium alloy instead of steel, it is possible to retain the strength and robustness of the original product, while drastically reducing the weight. It makes the equipment considerably lighter and easier to handle.

I-Press Methods for Frame Straightening of Vehicles

The system consists of three complete straightening units each mounted on wheels and with accessories.

It can easily be complemented with other Josam straightening tools such as our straightening C-clamps and hydraulics. The JOSAM i-press has a unique capacity. The three multi-functional straightening units work in X-,Y- and Z- directions and can press and withstand pressure both in a horizontal and vertical direction.

Easy to install Just as easy to move

JOSAM i-press can be installed in existing concrete floors with a thickness of at least 150 mm. Our recommendation is for the installation of at least 12 x 3 anchorings. The centre beam can be removed at any time by loosening the bolts. In every joint between the beams, a joint connector is to be used. The JOSAM i-press is easy to move. The floor anchorings can be knocked out and the centre beam dismantled for installation in a new location.

The JOSAM i-press is optimal for use on a floor surface area of approximately 4 X 14 meters. The system is flexible and if the facility is longer than 14 meters, the workplace can simply be lengthened.

The JOSAM i-press is designed for straightening of vehicles with an U-shaped chassis beam - from approximately 4 tons up to heavier vehicles of 16 tons. If you want to make the floor space available for other jobs, dismantling the straightening system is just as easy and simple. One day a workplace for straightening of heavy vehicles, and the next morning the workplace is ready for another type of work.

Induction Heater

JOSAM, which is a pioneer when it comes to the use of heat in the straightening of axles, vehicle frames, crane jibs, etc. can now offer a new method of induction heating.

It is not only effective and reliable, but results in a cleaner work environment.

The risk for damaging cables and such when heating with an open flame is completely eliminated. Good regulating controls make it easier to achieve the correct temperature, heating depth and size of the heated area.

  • High efficiency with a controlled heating output.
  • Phase monitors, cooling water regulators, as well as built-in safety fuses.
  • A new and effective inductor which is easy to service.

Induction Heater JH400

Induction Heater JH400

JH400 is used for sheet metal straightening and loosening of smaller machine parts such as:

  • nuts up to size M24
  • pins
  • clamping rings

The JH400 is mainly used for lighter repair work. The high power induction heater can be used in the same way as a gas torch, but without destroying nearby parts. Overheating is avoided through the unique 5-step regulation and power control system. The heat is applied directly to the material being worked on without the necessity for removing heat-sensitive components located in the vicinity.

Induction Heater JH800

Induction Heater JH800

JH800 is suited for lighter straightening and loosening of heavier machine parts which includes:

  • bolts and nuts
  • smaller chassis
  • bushings and bearings

JH800 is a flexible but powerful induction heater made for truck and construction machinery workshops. The machine is easy to move and has good reach through its long hose package and cable. The heating effect can be controlled in five steps from the control panel. A powerful fan and condensor unit provides effective cooling in a closed water cooling system.

Induction Heater JH1300

Induction Heater JH1300

JH1300 is designed for heavy duty work that requires plenty of heat, for example straightening of:

  • chassis
  • heavier parts
  • axles

The JH1300 is suited for heavier vehicle repairs. It has a very high degree of efficiency and is water-cooled using a closed compressor-powered system. Through the use of automatic control monitors, the power output remains constant during the heating process.

Drilling Machine with Leverages

JOSAM drill is a new drilling system, which, by using a leverage, facilitates and speeds up the demanding drilling work. JOSAM drill is especially designed for drilling 12-20 mm holes in frames of heavy vehicles. The drilling could be performed ten times faster than by conventional drilling equipment.

A 700 mm extension makes it possible to work outside the wheels. A 2.5 m chain, can be attached to the frame, and will serve as support of the lever.

The range of application of JOSAM drill is wide. The lever facilitates drilling in many different positions and reduces the risk of personal injury if the drill bit gets stuck.

In order to straighten higher vehicle units and bodies we can extend the existing
JOSAM frame press equipment with towers.

Cab Tower Method for Frame Straightening of vehicles

In other words, the press and counterstay trolleys normally used in frame straightening become the base for the cab towers used in cab and bus repair etc.

JOSAM supplies two versions of "cab tower" depending on what kind of floor installation the customer has chosen. The first alternative is the conventional I-beam anchoring. This means that a floor rack or an I-beam square has been installed in the workshop. If you already work with JOSAM frame straightening system, which is anchored in this way, an I-beam solution is the most worthwhile solution. The trolley and the cab bench are both anchored directly in the tracks in the floor rack.

The second alternative is our CT-series with so-called floor and chain anchoring. With this method we install floor anchoring which is drilled and fastened into the concrete floor. The trolley, which in this case is equipped with a nose bracket, is anchored directly in the cab bench or in a threaded "expander hole", for example when repairing coaches. It is fixed in place in the rear by means of stabilizing chains hooked to the floor anchoring. The cab bench itself is fastened into the threaded expander holes. With this type of anchoring we are now able to straighten 360 degrees around the object and 180 degrees in the vertical direction. This, in accordance with the vector principle (by pressing on chains to change the angle) and the possibility of moving the trolley and placing it out of square in relation to the damaged object.

No matter which alternative is chosen, JOSAM cab tower can be utilized on many different objects thanks to its flexible engineering. The "module" function enables you to use the same tools in different operations. A further innovation is that the complete JOSAM cab tower is now manufactured in light weight aluminium alloy which makes the towers very easy to move and reassemble.

The JOSAM cab bench consists of a rigid base which is anchored to beams in
the workshop floor.
