This laser-assisted wheel alignment system is the most common and most widely sold system of all in our range of products.The system is also the oldest in our catalogue but has been improved and updated over the years. It is no coincidence that it is this JOSAM equipment that has been exported to most countries around the world. It is simple, demands minimum maintenance and is manually operated. Additional software for Windows is available as a complement for calculations, data storage and printouts.

The JOSAM laser AM system stands for precise wheel, axle and frame alignment at a relatively low investment. This reliable equipment can measure the wheel angles of trucks, coaches, semi-trailers, full-trailers, mobile cranes and other heavy vehicles and also check the vehicle's chassis or other frame constructions in a simple way. The system is based upon laser technology and uses the geometric centerline as its reference. Measuring scales are moved out from the centerline and are targeted by a laser projector which in turn is mounted on a wheel adapter on each side of the axle which is measured. Our most basic "laser AM" system for toe-measurement can of course be expanded into a sophisticated system which can measure all wheel angles as well as frame measurement.

Measurement data is typed into the calculation software in a PC. It computes the results, stores it or enables you to print it "before" and "after adjustment" (Please click on image for an enlargement). Further, a frame measurement version is also available.
With JOSAM laser AM we can easily verify whether or not the wheel angles are distorted and if necessary, cure the problem. The frame can also be straightened simultaneously as we measure it with the system.

Moreover, we can assess if all the wheels are rolling in the same direction and parallel to the centerline of the frame. Even though the system is an analogue system, its measurements may be calculated and graphically presented in PC-software which also stores the data and makes four-colour printing possible. The software. JOSAM communicator, is available both for frame measurement and wheel alignment.

Truckaligner II |

Cable-free front axle alignment with truckaligner II. The measuring unit is portable and can easily be brought underneath or around the vehicle for adjustments of the wheel angles.
This new system has the same basic measurement technology as its predecessor truckaligner I. With this we mean that we start out from the geometric centerline which is moved out along the vehicle by means of self -centering frame gauges and front and rear scales.

Two measurement heads are hung on each side of the axle which is to be measured and the operation is manoeuvred with a cable-free handheld unit. A unique feature with the system is that all vertical angles (camber, caster and KPI) are taken directly from the wheel with an angle sensor inside the measuring head. Another feature is that no reference point on the floor is necessary.

With truckaligner II wheel alignment is considewrably simplified and at the same time the measuring process is speeded up. The workshop gains a better business volume since more vehicles can be measured. For instance, compensation for run-out of the rim can be done on both sides simultaneously and no pre-configuration of the vehicle is necessary. In other words, just before the axle is measured the operator decides whether it is a steering or non-steering axle and up to 16 axles may be added on to the same measurement.
Measurement before, during and after adjustment is of course possible and all results are shown on the LCD-screen. When adjustments are made the changing values can be seen in real time on both sides at the same time and also one can see how the different angles are influencing each other.
Moreover, an automatic compensation for an uneven floor can be acquired with help from an electronic level.
The measurement of the steering or non-steering axle is taken by following the scheme of icons and colour images that are shown on the LCD-monitor. The icons indicate which button to activate and a help menu is always available for assistance.

PC Based Truckaligner |

The PC console is mobile and comes equipped with a screen that can be raised or lowered to the desired height. It also comes with a storage cabinet for the measuring heads as well as the computer and printer and is completely free from cables if so desired.

The Truckaligner system has been developed for the measurement and adjustment of all wheel angles on heavy vehicles and is now also available in a PC version.
It allows for a high degree of automation so that the technician can quickly and simply measure the vehicle. The quality of the alignment process can be checked step by step.
The system is also adapted for twin steering axles and vehicle combinations like articulated buses.
Together with turntable and Play Detector, the PC/handheld computer, measuring heads, wheel adapter, frame gauges, and target scales constitute a complete set of equipment for advanced and precise wheel alignment.

Functions unique for the PC version
It now comes with a completely new database management system and expanded order storage. This function, called the JOSAM homebase, makes it very simple for the user to create orders, take measurements and make reports. In the actual measuring part of the system, the JOSAM truckaligner II, there is the possibility of measuring wheel angles in a well-thought out flow of information and work on the basis of the limit values recommended by the manufacturers.
Handheld version
The handheld computer version is based on the Windows CE operating system and is equipped with an 8 inch LCD screen for easy reading.
This portable computer communicates with the measuring heads without the use of cables and a keyboard and printer can be added via USB connections. The powerful, rechargeable battery provides an operating time of more than 8 hours.
The handheld computer is specially designed for a tough workshop environment and can be carried around or used inside the vehicle. It is ideal for mobile measuring or in the service pit.
The PC adapted version, for those of you who desire to measure with a standard computer at the same time as you administer the measuring process and obtain limit values. The screen can be adapted upon request and the mobile console gives you the freedom to work wirelessly via a remote control.
The handheld alternative, for those of you who would like to be more mobile, work in a service pit or in work in tough environments.

JOSAM TA sync, software for communication and storage
This new software, TA sync, is a bridge between the two versions of JOSAM truckaligner II. For the customers using only the handheld option the TA sync is a great improvement for keeping the working orders in order and under supervision.
